God's word instructs us to be pure in our motives, our thoughts, and our actions. But the world tries to convince us that purity isn't really very important. The world tries to convince us that immediate pleasure is more important that righteous living, yet nothing could be further from the truth.
Sometimes it's hard to do the right thing, especially if you pay attention to all the messages that the media keeps pumping out. Those messages, which seem to pop up just about everywhere, try to tell you how you should look and how you should behave. The media is interested in selling you the ideas and products of popular culture. And if you're wise, you won't buy into all those media lies.
Striving for purity isn't a sometimes thing-purity unfolds day by day. It's the result of every good deed, every heartfelt prayer, every kind word, and every sensible thought. Being pure isn't a sprint, it's a marathon. And it's a marathon you can win-and should win.
